Our People

At Albatross, our People are at the heart of everything we do. Our People Strategy is built around a simple belief: everyone should be empowered to own their future.

No matter which part of the Group you work in, or who you report to, you will experience a consistent, fair and transparent approach to development, opportunity and progression. We aim to create an environment where people feel supported, challenged and inspired to be the best version of themselves.

Clear Roles, Clear Expectations

We believe success starts with clarity. Every role within the Group is clearly defined from the point of recruitment, ensuring expectations are understood from day one. Job roles are reviewed at least annually and outline:

  • The purpose of the role
  • Core responsibilities and key stakeholders
  • Competencies for success
  • What “good” looks like
  • Key performance indicators

This approach helps everyone understand how they contribute to the wider success of the Group.

Performance, Development & Leadership

Regular communication and feedback are central to how we work. From structured inductions and probation reviews to regular one-to-ones, we focus on supporting people both in their current role and in their longer-term career development.

Our leadership approach is built on trust, empowerment and accountability, with clear behavioural guidelines, all set out in the Albatross Group booklet, that shape how we work with each other and with our customers and partners. We want our people to feel confident, supported and set up to succeed.

Talent Management & Career Progression

We are committed to recognising potential and helping people grow. Through ongoing reviews, we identify strengths, aspirations and development opportunities across the Group. This allows us to support individual career goals, plan for the future, and ensure the business continues to thrive.

Many of our senior leaders have been developed internally, including members of the Board, and most people on the Leadership Team, and we regularly create new roles to support progression as the Group grows.

Learning & Development

Learning is a vital part of life at Albatross. All new starters complete a comprehensive induction and training programme, and development continues throughout your career with us.

Learning and development is key to our success, if there is a clear business need and it supports your development, we will invest in it. We believe strongly in rewarding ambition, commitment and contribution, and in giving people the skills and confidence to achieve their goals.

This investment extends beyond technical skills to personal development, including the opportunity to take part in FranklinCovey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People programme, based on the work of Stephen R. Covey, helping our people build lasting habits for success at work and in life.

Reward & Recognition

We offer competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package designed to recognise the value our people bring to the business. Benefits include:

  • Enhanced holiday linked to length of service
  • Birthday day off
  • Pension contributions
  • Eye care vouchers and flu vaccinations
  • Funded social events

Recognition is part of our culture, from public and peer recognition to team celebrations and even “Albastars” at our annual convention
