We are seeking an IT Support Technician to join our dynamic Team. This position is a great opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic Technician with a track record of customer-focused experience of 1st and 2nd line IT support duties. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a small team environment.
You will provide support to users working within a Microsoft-focused network environment using the company’s bespoke travel booking system. You will be proactive in the maintenance and development of IT services, working with colleagues to investigate, purchase and implement new solutions that keep our technology up-to-date and relevant to business need.
Working as part of a team, you’ll need to demonstrate the ability to contribute to a team environment as well as being enthusiastic and passionate about the role and technology in general, working in a business that promotes continual improvement and learning at every level, embracing challenge and change along the way. Competencies for success – candidates MUST have:
- 2 years of user IT support experience
- A detailed understanding and experience of supporting Office 2013 (or higher), Windows and Windows Server, gained in a similar role
- Experience of troubleshooting computer hardware, software, printers/copiers
- Experience of supporting Android and iOS mobile devices in the field
- Experience of administering Active Directory and setting up users in Microsoft Exchange
- Experience of Antivirus/Antimalware software and resolving user issues
- Knowledge of firewalls and backup systems
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and administering networked devices
- Knowledge of Wireless networks
- Knowledge of ADSL and fibre broadband technologies
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Provide all-round 1st and 2nd line support, ensuring users are kept abreast of progress; Support a Windows environment running Windows 10 and Office on a mixture of mobile and desktop devices; Support in-house booking system; Work closely with colleagues to resolve escalated support issues; Troubleshoot hardware and software faults; Set up and manage user accounts, passwords and memberships; Set up user and shared mailboxes; Set up and support of telephones and smartphones; Roll out and manage user devices, installing/configuring software and hardware; Work with LANs and WANs; Work with the IT Operations Manager to evaluate, purchase and setup hardware, software or online services; Give general IT overview training to new starters; Maintain system, network and process documentation
